A.J.Webb & Son (Sheffield) remain the largest independent importers, wholesalers and distributors of fresh produce in the area. The new facilities have enabled the company to maintain high volume importing from across Europe and the rest of the world on a daily basis. The company has a broad customer base supplying retail markets, high street shops and secondary wholesalers with an entire portfolio of products. Although delivering to Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire the company also has a large visiting customer base for those who would prefer to buy themselves.
The wholesale division is structured with departments and specialised salesmen assigned to each one: deciduous, citrus, soft fruits, exotics, salads, vegetables and potatoes, all independently guided in terms of procurement and quality which enables efficient stock rotation and up to the minute price levels.
